It can't, actually.
I don't really think this claim is valid until some more substantial games appear on the iPhone platform. There are some real gems up there now like Field Runners and suposedly Aurora Feint (haven't played it, but I've heard many good things about it), no real "killer apps". Yet. Lately there has been some promising improvements in the overall game lineup.
Also, the fact that all games are under $10.00 is definitely nice. A huge number are free.
