A price cut in Japan is less painful and easier to justify. Less painful because the sales volume is smaller there than in other regions even with a price cut boost. Easier to justify because the price is higher so they'll break even there first.

At least Sony might be doing better in one country in a few months.

I personally think that we'll see a slimline at the same price before we see an actual price-cut.
