Nutter! Don't you realize that the cultural boundaries are prettier in Civ IV? I bet Civ I couldn't even render pretty cultural boundaries in its game engine. Actually I find Civ IV to be the best, because its graphics are better than Civ III! Jk, I find that the even numbered series are really just perfecting the gameplay elements introduced in the odd numbered games. So Civ II for me is just a better Civ I and Civ IV is just a better Civ III.

We're hijacking here, but I prefer IV to the others, after Beyond the Sword came out. Before that, though, II was king.

@soriku: sometime in November. He was vague on the details.

Yeah, beyond the sword really made me play the game! I didin't like how the game becomes so difficult to win when you try to expand by conquest at first, so it really means you have to use diplomacy and subterfuge. The games harder but im playing at Monarch level right now because it really entices me to try new things to pull out a victory. You have to be proactive, unlike a lot of turn based games where you can mindlessly click move, attack, build, end turn. That Apostolic palace is probably the single biggest addition to the game. The diplomatic options it gives you are INSANE.

Tease.
