What do you think are the chances that someone might be making a mod such as this even as I type this? It would make a great d/l for the 360. 8) |
The Vita Chamber isn't an issue as far as I'm concerned and I don't think the patch would necessarily change things. Increasing the difficulty of the game changes several variables -- not just the difficulty or number of monsters but how fast your EVE gets sucked out of you. For those that complain about the Vita Chambers, they should just crank it up one level. They will be happy to have them to not play the same level over and over until they get past a "hard part". Believe it or not, Gears had very, very regular checkpoints which meant you re-spawned very close to where you died and I don't remember anyone making a big stink about that... 2K made it clear that Bioshock wasn't a multi-player game from the get go. I don't see how a reviewer could dock a game for not having something that it never intended to have. Clearly Edge didn't dock Space Giraffe for not having an immersive story. It's just an arcade game and they rated as so... Same for warhawk for that matter -- can't dock it for not having single player. To me, that's just idiotic as any reviewer can knock any game for not having something... What, you mean it doesn't have a screensaver when you pause it? Damn, that's a minus 2 right there! If it had multiplayer and it sucked, well, I would understand...
Bioshock as a whole is a phenomenally well rounded game. Based on the merits of what is in the game and what was intended to be in the game in the first place, It's a high 9 game. Period....
@Kruze -- You misunderstood or I misled -- either way, I'm not knocking Space Giraffe because it is an XBLA game. I'm knocking it because it is not that great of a game. I've purchased about a dozen or more XBLA arcade games and played alomost all the demos and space giraffe is average, in my opinion, at best. There is no way I'd give SG an 8. MAYBE a 5 or 6. When enough SG reviews come in I suspect that will be the composite score -- a 5 to 6 overall and rightly so. These two games (based entirely on their own specific merits) don't belong in the same discussion when talking about great games.
