I think part of it is a type of "grass is always greener on the other side" mentality. We played the GameCube games, we know what we liked and more importantly didn't like about them. Their Wii bretheren are as great as we wish them to be at the moment. This is all the more so since we don't really know how the new controls will change the gameplay. Kind of like when we (well those of us over 22 or so) saw the first pics of Mario 64 and could only guess at how a 3D Mario game would play.
