Persona 3 came out in 2007 and was reviewed extremely well. Why didn't MS get Persona 4 then?

MS can't just ask Atlus for something, nor will Atlus suddenly make it for the 360. It makes no sense. Atlus has shown near zero interest at all for HD consoles (they only published Disgaea 3 for the PS3, that's it). Not to mention they don't have the biggest budget. Why would they go to the system with the lowest Japanese userbase, and also a much lower userbase WW, and much higher development costs when they could go to the system with the highest userbase, and lowest dev costs? Don't you think that's MAYBE a reason they put P4 on the PS2? If P5 is going to be on a console it's going to be on the Wii, not the 360. There's no benefit AT ALL for it to go to the 360.

Oh, and no I didn't for 1 and 2.

Persona 3 only received an 85 from IGN and it has an 87 at Metacritic.  Persona 3:  FES was given an 88 by IGN and a 89 from Metacritic, and Persona 4 received a 90 from IGN and a 94 from Metacritic.  Each game has been getting more and more acclaim bringing more attention to the series something that I'm sure Microsoft has noticed.

Why can't Microsoft just ask Atlus for something?  Ever heard the expression ask and you shall receive?  There must have been asking from somebody to get Tales of Vesperia and Final Fantasy XIII on the 360.  Also, Atlus has a deal with Microsoft to release games on the 360.

They have already released two strategy rpgs on the 360.  Operation Darkness (I think a sequel is in the works even though the first one wasn't supposed to be that great) and Spectral Force 3 (which was supposed to be okay but very derivative of other fantasy strategy rpgs).

Look all I'm trying to say is that Microsoft has to know that the Persona games have been getting good reviews lately (better than any 360 jrpg released so far) and that is probably generating new fans for the series.  They also already have a working partnership with Atlus.  And, I don't think it is a huge leap in logic to think that Microsoft would have interest in strengthening their jrpg lineup and position in Japan (which they have been working hard to acquire) by adding the next Persona game to their lineup.

Heavens to Murgatoids.
