@Selnor

Your entire post there just validates my point -_-; The reason so many people play halo, is because it's so easy to pick up and play. It's the absolute definition of the generic shooter. If it wasn't for it's sci-fi theme, I honestly couldn't tell it apart from any WW2 shooter. You can replace almost every mechanic in that game with something from an earlier call of duty or goldeneye game. It compiles many generic features from generic games, and creates the ultimate... in generic @_@

Look at halo and it's 71298743928479238472193478239423 million plus community!!!! Yeah well I bet you a game like bejeweled has seen just as much playtime -_-; Something so simple :P How about Tetris? These games aren't complicated. I can think of a ton of people who would play bejeweled, but would never bother picking up puzzle quest. (bejeweled with RPG elements). It's essentially the same game, just a little different. But that little difference is what alienates a bazillion people. My girlfriend LOVES bejeweled, but doesn't get rpgs. She doesn't see the point of a story, or extra moves, or any of that other stuff. She's a very casual girl when it comes to her games. And because it's a little different she doesn't like it :P

Why do you think the Wii is so popular? It's capable of delivering titles that everyone can pick up and have a good time with. Bungie did the same. You act like its a bad thing. Why do you think it's so popular with teens? With children? Why do you think it's rated T? Bungie didn't want to isolate anyone, and in order to do that, you have to be basic. You have to stick with something simple, something that's easily defined. There is no "trick" to getting good at halo. Just practice @_@

LOL at that team that "rapes everyone". You missed my point entirely. Chances are, a team that spends 22 hours a day playing halo, learning it's speed, the range of weapons, the size of his characters e-penis... etc etc etc is going to be fine at it. How about you take that team that "rapes everyone" and put them in a game of Graw 2 ^_^ or Unreal Tournament :) Chances are, they won't be the best, not by a long shot. The point I was making, was that being good at halo, doesn't mean you'll be good at other FPS's. Other FPS's have things that make them stricter on the learning curve. However, being good at those FPS's, then coming to Halo, will be a much simpler transition because Halo is like a generic version of the game they just came from >_>

All in all selnor, you just can't target such a huge audience with something complicated. It doesn't work that way. Halo is simple. Please deal with it.
