I borrowed my friends copy of Zelda Lttp when i was like 14 and while i was riding my bike home it fell out of my pocket into a puddle and then i ran over it with my back tire. All i did was wipe the mud off of the sticker (not even the connectors) and it worked. He never ever knew the horrible thing i did to one of his most precious possesions.
Hopefully your game will still work too. Nintendo makes some pretty durable carts.
