I find it to be about comfort, primarily. Same reason i would prefer Wiimote-n-Nunchuk to any joypad ever, if only it had a 2nd joystick. You can sit back, splay out, just relax as you play. Preferable to having your hands six inches from each other at all times, and definitely preferable from being hunched over a keyboard-n-mouse.
