I'm extremely happy with my Wii-Xbox360 combo. I really don't think you could go wrong with the new Xbox360's since the internal bits and pieces have been made more effecient and the new warranty is 3 years long. Plus, the X360 controller is probably the most comfortable I've held since the GameCube. Never a big fan of Sony's controllers and that awful d-pad.
I'm with the people who don't see why they'd need both HD systems since the majority of their games are shared multiplatform titles, and of the two of them, the Xbox360 edges out the PS3 with more exclusives--and is a lot more developer friendly.
And I'm not interested in Blu-Ray. Yeah, I'm sure it's plenty freakin' pretty, but my ye olde DVD player can output to a High-Def TV with results that are plenty good enough--not that I have an HDTV yet anyway, so it's even more a moot point. Plus, Blu-Ray costs so much more for so little advancement. It's not like going from VHS to DVD, which was a major leap. More like trading in your 2-year-old car for a brand new version of the exact same model.
