When building machines, there is a think we high-technalized folks call a "bottleneck." It means that there is one part of your machine that is holding back the rest and not letting it get any bigger. Now people can use buzz phrases like how KZ2 only uses 60 percent of a certain part of the machine, and whatnot, but the sad fact it, that a certain part of every machine is keeping the graphics at a certain level, and no amount of efficiency will ever be able to make that one part holding the whole machine back, any better. The PS3 is a powerful machine. However, it has a bottleneck. I would guess in the ram or GPU. It keeps its games from looking as good as say, a decent computer, and it keeps its games from looking much better than any game on the Xbox 360. That's why a lot of games on the 360, and one in particular, Gears of War 2, looks as good as anything ever released on the Playstation 3 so far. Now, the PS3 graphics will get better, but according to the makers of Gears of War 2, Cliffy B(who knows more about it than you and I), so will the graphics on the Xbox 360. I'd be willing to bet that eventually, the PS3's last gen graphics for rare exclusives would slightly edge out MS exclusive games, more often than not. However, it's such a small difference that no one would notice except a Sony fan who was looking for justification for his console purchase...like most Sony fans do all the time. /bow |
okay when you say " i would guess either the ram or the gpu" you obviously don't know what you're talking about than, and FYI the XDR ram in the PS3 is extremely high performance so check that off your list, next up the GPU the RSX absolutely shits on the xenos...
