What are the expansions? And what can you tell me about Colonizations, any good or is that one of the expansions?

Woops I just have Civ IV, Warlords and Beyond the Sword. I haven't gotten Colonization yet, sorry. And yes you need the original for the expansions AFAIK, not 100% about Colonization though (Due to not owning it)
