I do believe this is the direction in which we're heading. And the longer this generation lasts (as in the longer Nintendo rides the Wii, the longer MS coasts on their new found profitability, making back the losses of the Xbox, and the longer Sony struggles break even on the ps3), the higher a chance that we will see such things happen next gen.
