Saying that, it's still more to buy but at times, at least it gets competitive. It ended up costing me $21AU each (about $15US). And another thing, probably 95% of all BD discs thus far are region free so if your currency is good (mine is crap being the south pacific ruble, aka Aussie dollar) then you can get them from places like Amazon, sometimes a lot cheaper. |
My wife is a Stargate fan. She just bought the original movie uncut edition for just $10 Blu-ray. Let's say she can find it at $4 on DVD. Sure, she'd be saving $6, but she wouldn't be getting what she wanted. That's wasting $4 on a DVD when it's $10 well spent on Blu-ray. And who's to argue to spend $10 on an HD movie that you want and can afford? Choices.
