i think Sony have done the right thing by not raising the price of the PS3 with the rest of their electronics range, but i think you're right considering the financial crisis. Having the highest priced console as everyone's purses get tighter will push it further and further out of the price range of the average shopper. Even if they manage to bring in a price cut, it will stretch Sony even further if they've not improved the loss per console sold. And it will still be the most expensive console on the market.

Price means much more than Sony first made out (with the reference to the "people will get a second job..." remark).
