I think Killzone 2 may have a similar effect as the Shadow of the Beast had on the Atari ST vs Amiga wars.

Released 3 years after the launch of the original Amiga, this game ended all Amiga vs ST tech arguments and we all lived happily ever after, with Amiga 500 games reaching new highs every upcoming year leaving ST gaming in the dust in terms of quality, despite early ST to Amiga ports were slighly worse to nearly the same a bit later (apart from much better audio on the Amiga).
