in America. West Coast at least (and East Coast New York). Some info.. Electronic Music started back in the 1970s with the band "Kraftwerk" in Germany, Europe. The Detroit house scene appeared in the late 80s. During the 90s Europe (the Netherlands, UK, Italy, Belgium and Germany) made electronic music huge throughout the world.
The reason why I'm making this thread is as follows. Our American friends told us that mainstream music in America is getting more and more generic. Rap, R&B and Pop genres seem to have merged at some point (?) "The industry is controlling mainstream charts, strangling the music scene" according to my friends??
If any of you guys in here got some info on this issue or know something about it, pls do share your thoughts.
I checked out some youtube vids (I'll post them below) of EDC 2008 held at Los Angeles Memorial Colosseum & Expo Park. It was held back in June 28th. DJs from all over Europe flew over. The end result: 60.000 + attendence that night alone!! Things are picking up in America. To bad they missed out in the 90s and 00s. :/
