What I do is copy the iTunes Library file, and keep everything in the same folders as on the old machine. It has worked, but it's kinky, especially if you have your music unordered.
If you move your music to a new drive (c:\ instead of d:\ for example) you could always do a search replace in the xml file... Never tried that, but it should work.
Of course, this means you'd have to copy the files from the original computer to the new one, and not via the iPod. I mean, you could use the iPod to just move the files, but you'd have to copy them manually over to the iPod. Uhm... am I making sense?
