Personally i prefer trophies over achievements.
Platinum trophies are very hard to get, u need to be skilled to get those.
To get a alot of gamerpoints you just could get all the easy achievements, and never get the hard ones.
Having a gamerscore doesnt necessarily mean ur skilled.
For me achievements are a must, i also didnt buy VC unless its getting patched with trophies.
