The Saturn was made for being a 2D powerhouse, but they disregarded most of that and tried to do 3D on it. PS3 was made to benifit from and for Blu-ray. It should have been made to benefit from Blu-ray for a better gaming experience. Lack of advanced Blu-ray tech, made for some games to have mandatory installs to compensate for the drives slow reading speeds. Which counteracts the purpose of a hich capacity media, if your going to install it to hard drive anyways. PS> Dreamcast is the best console ever. |
Exactly. Until PSthree comes out with a faster BR drive and better line ups are announced with addition to more 3rd party support, I don't see PS3 as a major success this time around. Even if they lower the price they are essentially giving up until next gen like Saturn to Dreamcast as they are bleeding money. Sony has already stated that they will continue to use the Cell so that will reduce the learning curve in the long term.
The worst case scenario would be if Sony continues to have a third place sales and a lack of majority consumer confidence it could lead them to pull out of the console race...
