How do you define "fail"? Nintendo makes profit for every Wii they sell, so no matter how fast the interest in software ends, Nintendo has made profit. I say Nintendo will have sold more Wiis than Sony PS3s and Microsoft 360s by the end of 2009. Want to bet on that? I also claim that Nintendo will have made the most profit by the end of this generation.
Nintendo is really gaining momentum user and developer wise at this point, which means great games next year and the year after that and a pile of consumers who want the games. In addition, Nintendo is able to make popular games for casual players at a very fast pace. That is why I don't see the Wii failing anytime soon.
