Well, that's a lot of quotes I've got to deal with, too many for me to be arsed.

People say that it's political suicide, that's just because the nation hasn't been educated on it, if the nation was educated on what would happen (which they would be, once it becomes a matter of discussion).

The fact is that now is a great time to do it, the last time the debate was in the air, it was about 7 years ago, the main reason we didn't join the Euro was because our trade cycles were out of line, the UK was currently going through a boom, and the Eurozone was in a recession - now our economies are in line - we're all in recession, we not going to get dragged into one by joining the Euro.

Cutting interest rates lower the value of the pound, which causes import inflation, increasing interest rates head us into recession further. Perhaps waiting until the value of the Euro is greater than the value of the pound would be a perfect time, as it would actually result in slight price drops across imported goods.

Even when it does come to it - it will be done by referendum, which means it won't be happening for a long time, but it will happen eventually, hopefully.
