Moving your hands to hit the keypad is probably easier than putting down the controller to type on a keyboard. Still, the placement of the keypad seems to be in a very uncomfortable place.
I've rarely used a keyboard on my PS3 and I hardly ever use a bluetooth headset (more recently I've been using it in the Killzone 2 beta), which makes paying $100 for the official keypad and headset feel pointless.
Not to mention $50 for one of those feels overpriced anyway.
