The 360 controller and Ps3 controller are practically identical antiquated pieces of junk which as far as FPS games are concerned are unusable when compared to using a Mouse - FPS on consoles are practically unplayable.
Aside from that the X360 controller has improved ergonomics but nothing significant they have exactly the same dual analogue - 4 button and d pad with dual triggers - the different color is no advantage and overall they both suck.
I would say the motion sensing on the DualShock3 or Sixaxis as an significant advantage but it's unspported by almost all games (only around 1/4 driving games support it , almost no suport in FPS !) so it does not really count - it has absolutley no operating system support at all.

- The Wii mote on the other hand blow them both out of the water - it gives IR sensing and motion , vibration and auditory feedback and provides a mouse like ability to point and select on screen in a highly intuituve way.

Erm....Controllers are best for Fast FPS games,Mouses are best for Realistic FPS games, since mouse have far more percesion and require you to pick them up and move them back over.

Thumbstick Controllers best for Fast FPS games - Wrong.

Mouse is way faster - the UT3 port to the PS3 they had to slow it down by 20% because otherwise the people using their sixaxis were betting hammered by the people using mouse and keyboard.

Mouse is faster, easier , more accurate more intuitive and far more enjoyable to use for FPS than any thumbstick controller ever made. Thumbsticks were designed for 2D platform games and I was hoping should have been dropped from this generation of games consoles completly -

GT are correct the PS3-sixaxis is outdated -the Wii mote is the new way to play.
