Keeping in mind that I enjoyed both Sonic Adventures just for the Sonic/Shadow portions.

The best levels (Sonic/Shadow) in the Sonic Adventure games made up for only 1/3 of both titles, it's about the same in Sonic Unleashed. However, SU has by far the best levels out of any 3D Sonic game (speed and design) and the Werehog levels aren't as bad as the Knuckles/Big/Rouge stages from the SA games.

If you play for S ranks, the time spent on Sonic levels increases, because they are actually challenging, while the Werehog levels should be S ranked on the second time you play a level. That is, if you even need another try.

The biggest problem of SU is that you have to play several Werehog levels after each other which can take about half an hour. But overall, it's a pretty good game. Even if you hate the Werehog, the game has to be played for the great Sonic levels.
