Which you should choose really depends on what types of games you are into.
I like some of the features of the Wii but to be honest, I don't care as much for the Wii mote as some of you do. I think after you play it for a little while you end up just wanting a regular gamepad. The Wii really is fun for parties and such however, nothing like having a bunch of your drunk friends swinging wii-motes around.
The 360 has a lot of different types of games including a large selection of JRPG's. I think for the overall library I would side with the 360. It also has a great online setup with Live. You can buy 13 month live subscriptions on ebay for $30-38 bucks fairly easily. If you live in the United States, Live also allows you to stream Netflix movies and to me this is a really nice feature. I have been streaming more movies over the last week or 2 than play games. You can also buy a refurbished 20GB hard drive for around $20 from M$. Hope this helps you make a choice. Either system is good so you can't make a bad choice.
