One console only, kind of like the early 80's and Atari. That would mean no competition and lots of crappy games like E.T. No thanks.
Although, competition did result in the Atari 5200 and the Sega 32X, so maybe one system wouldn't be that bad.
All three companies making the hardware together, it could work. As long as Nintendo designs it and MS is not responsible for testing it.
