I thought it was understood that the whole point of playing L4D was for the multiplayer online mode.
If you didn't get that from all the previews, sorry you wasted your $60, but pay closer attention to what's being said about a game before you buy it.
Most people love the multiplayer mode; without it, the game is a lot like playing Counterstrike with bots and a zombies/monsters for enemies. In other words: kind of pointless.
