I still think Wii Music seems a bit cheapish. I've looked at the songs, and there are many I don't know, and only a few I'm interested in. Far too few songs that seem interesting, and I cannot see why I should buy the game.

Also, how is the multiplayer? Can several people play at once?

The multiplayer is pretty good. 4-player local. The challenge is getting four people playing on the same wavelength. I'm lucky in that all my sisters and brothers-in-law have a musical background, but I still find myself wishing I could assert creative control.

You're definitely right that the music library is the weakest pillar holding up Wii Music. There's a good reason why the melodies are simple, but there are plenty of more popular songs with simple melodies available besides the old folk songs Wii Music leans heavily on. On the other hand, if I let my music snobbery get in the way of enjoying music and rhythm games, I'd hardly play any of them.
