Not only that but they have inevitably lengthend a pointless format war. Blu ray has been the obvious choice between the to formats by anyone that knows anything about the formats. It had better support, better techolagy, better features, and a good long future. Now with HD-DVD having a good chance to win I see a new format every 5 years in the movie industry becoming the standard. This IMO is an obviuos move to pull in the idiot consumer and scew them over. |
Yeah, that wouldn't look desperate and cause a lot of negative press for Sony ...
Honestly, I would say that dropping the price of the 80GB model to $500 is about the best that people can expect from Sony in the near future.
