It won't do much but it will def. help. And this way Sony wont be loosing on ever Ps3 (because some people dont know about it, some people forget to fill out the rebate, some people don't do it in time, and its in one country instead of region)

Its decent deal. Is it through christmas?

And then ppl feel cheated, if it doesn't get done in time, because of all the paperwork & hoops they have to jump through, or when they find out it's too late to turn in. Not to mention the ppl who do get the rebate, have to put up the money, go through the reimbursement process, and wait. I'm sure, they'd much rather have the discount upfront.

The last thing Sony needs to do is make it awkward and alienate their userbase. The longterm effect that would have on the people who missed out on the rebate would be the opposite of what a discount is suppose to have. It might be better than nothing and they might be feeling pressured to cut the price right now, but why ruin it with a mail-in deal. It's not like Sony doesn't have the money to cover it upfront and they're not exactly in a postion to do whatever.
