If it's about the game sales, they would go "Truly" multi-plat instead of exclusive with some of their titles. Especially when there's less than 800k install base in Japan, where the RPG really gets loved.
By their logic with FFXIII, if they didn't get paid by MS, why would they make games exclusive to X360 to lose the potential profit from the other consoles, which have way larger install base in the RPG loving region.
