My analogy was just a joke. I really agree with the o.p..
And really, I have been enjoying posting here less too. Of course, I'm not going to stop. Still, I find myself reading a thread and watching as people take the slightest bit of bad news to attack console A, and use the slightest piece of good news to attack console A while building up console B. One night, I sat back and skimmed about six months of threads (I was looking for one thread in particular, and the search engine wasn't helping). It was pretty damned depressing. All we do is recycle the same arguments over and over. The amount of info that we get wrong was staggering. Yet we'll still argue and flame over the latest bit of speculation.
I used to take pleasure as a Snes owner when the Sega would screw up. I was happy as a Dreamcast owner when the PS2 wasn't delivering. Now, I'm just tired. I feel like a soldier whose seen nothing but war since he was a child (a little dramatic, aren't I?) Frankly, I'm tired of the fighting. I go into threads now more than ever, just reading a few posts, backing out, and logging off.
Their just silicone and plastic.
Lately, I've reverted back to my childhood mentality. Before the PS3 and 360. Before the Snes and Genesis. Back to when, as far as I knew, it was just the Nes......and all I wanted to do was play.
Play more, people. Play more.
