For TV? No. You need to go back to the 90s. A lot of TVs cost more than 300 dollars and people bought them. They don't consider a TV a minor purchase. It's equivalent to a sizable expenditure.
I am saying 50%+ for the year, not penetration. It's not spin, it's been reported several times if you simply watch news stations, or CNBC when they talk about the price reductions of HDTVs which are expected to drop another 30% or more this year.
