I agree it all depends on two things, availability and how much money you have because original games cost too much.

In recent times there have been alot of games banned in Aus, which is fine for PS3 as you can import as it is region free. Sadly the Wii is not, hence people will go to measures of modding the Wii and pirate the game just so they can play it.

Cost of games, they claim prices go up because of lost revenue due to piracy. Load of crap. If the prices of games went down by 30-50% then piracy would drop significantly.

Example of this here in Aus, is PC games. Alot them them are much cheaper then when games use to come out $99AUS dollar games now launch anything from 50-80 and only REALLY big hyped games cost $99AUS. Guess what I see alot of PC games being sold then their use to be.

Here in Aus Wii games are $100AU, 360 and PS3 are $120-$130AU, when they launch. Now this may not seem like it is much as our dollar has slipped to about 64cents US, but those are the same prices we had then our dollar was 98cents US. So almost dollar for dollar. Imaging trying to pay thse prices in US dollars.

It is only in recent months that shops like JB Hi-Fi and Big W have lowered those price points and always have sales. So it is really easy to pick up wii games when they launch for $79-89 and 360/PS3 games for $89-$99.
