I liked the 9th Gate.

What's weird is Wikipedia says they never reveal who the Woman is... when i'm pretty sure they reveal her as the Devil. Not by like name... but by visual stuff.

We watched that a few weeks ago in a film class, and most of my class agreed it was the Whore of Babylon.  Could be the Devil too though.  Those are basically the only 2 options, or maybe some other random servant of Satan.  She's also Polanski's supermodel wife that's half his age.

@op, good luck.  I'm so sick of writing about film.  I have to write about 15 pages about the Bible and its culture codes as seen in westerns, Se7en, The Ninth Gate, and some other movies, and I'm thinking of sneaking some Monty Python in there too (G-d appears in every Monty Python film).  And I have to write 10-12 pages about masculinity and femininity in film noir, Fargo, and The Big Lebowski.  And don't get me started on my avant-garde film class.  I had to write a 800-1000 word paper on this: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xe94g_mothlight_shortfilms

Hm.  I can see that too... in the book it's just a random fallen angel.
