True, but this is the sony forum, not the PS3 only forum. The article is about sony, and I've seen it posted several other places around the internet.
Sony is getting hammered by exchange rates right now so they need to do something to preserve profitability. The economic downturn is especially relevant to them as they manufacture luxury goods, which are the first thing people cut out of the budget when times get tough.
