There's an extra comma. It would be so much clearer if it were one of these two.

No person except a natural born citizen or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen Years a resident within the United States.

How were commas used in the 18th century?

What I said was wrong, so I changed it.  The wikipedia page that Tyrannical posted is the best analysis of the requirement.

It is kind of ambiguous, but it seems to have been interpreted that all people now have to be a natural born citizen.  This requires looking at what laws control these requirements, which are outside of the Constitution.

This is all just an exercise in futility, so I am not going to bother getting drug into a dispute about this and wasting time actually applying the laws.

But I'll read through the case I posted and see why it was actually dismissed.

You realize most of my posts are jokes, right?  Dry PDQ Bach-ish type jokes, but jokes none the less.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
