Things I don't want to see in the PS4:
* Multiple Cells - seriously, gaming doesn't require that much processing power
* New disc format - gaming systems shouldn't be multimedia disc Trojans
* Insufficient RAM / poorly optimized OS - 256 megabytes of general purpose XDR RAM would have been fine if not for an OS that demands 91 megs to run
Optimally I would like to see the PS4:
* Launch a year before the competition
* Launch for a $300 price point
* Focus on strong/early third party developer support
* Focus on competition with Nintendo instead of the PC and Xbox
Some good hardware specs would be:
1 Gigabyte of general purpose XDR RAM @ 3.2 GHz shared with the video card
1 22nm Cell CPU @ 6.0 GHz
32x speed Blu-Ray drive
250 Gig SATA HDD or a 160 Gig SSD (if SSD is considerably more affordable by the PS4's launch)
Nothing insanely expensive or new, just mid-ranged components that would allow for a low price point. Additionally, the PS4 would be familiar to developers and it would be reliable.
