Things that Sony should consider:

-Do not change the CPU's entire architecture again, first it was LSI Logic's R3051, then it was Sony and Toshiba's Emotion Engine, then Sony, Toshiba and IBM's Cell... Next processor HAS to be a more powerful Cell-based processor, because with that the costs will be cheaper, developers will find it familliar and the system will have BC...
-The support for devs has to be outstanding
-Do not change the disc format again, first CD, then DVD, then BR, and that is cool, but it's the 1st time that a PS console has a brand-new format and pushes it onto the market, that's the major reason why the prices are through the roof and they're losing money on every sale, next-gen they should stick to Blu-Ray and have a bigger default HDD for more digital content...
-More RAM, lots of more RAM
-They need the head-start, and with that, lots of 1st party titles to push sales until 3rd party catches up...
