staticneuron said: And I really can't stand it when people say the PS3 is two expensive. I purchased several systems on launch day ever since I was 7. I did the magical and mysterious thing known as saving. The earlier I know it is comming out... the longer I have to save. THe PS3 isn't to expensive.... that really is just an excuse. People don't want to spend the money on a PS3, which leads me to wonder if they wanted a PS3 in the first place. And I can assure everyone here that gears of war was impressive before I bought an hdtv and it was even better afterwards. So I know that motorstorm or any other fancy lookin' PS3 game will be impressive on a sdtv. P.S. welcome back Kwaad
So since people can save a Ferrari isn't expensive then? Continuing with cars here is the car sales by class in 2006 for Canada (I looked for US but couldn't find numbers): Compact Car: 402,834 Intermediate Car: 232,580 Subcompact Car: 102,657 Luxury Car: 63,238 Sports Car: 32,058 Luxury High Car: 23,424 Luxury Sport Car: 6,369 http://www.cartest.ca/2006_best_sellers.htm Notice how at most of the car purchases would be made on cars that cost between $15,000 and $30,000? Now there is a major difference between a PS3 and a car when it comes to sales; a car is (pretty much) as good regardless on whether it is popular or not. The value of your $60,000 car is not dependant on whether your neighbor can afford the same model. The PS3 on the other hand will get ports/exclusive games entirely based on how large the userbase is; many of the third party exclusives that Sony fans associate with the Playstation were on the PS2 because it sold 30 Million consoles within its first 18 months on the market.
