The price is as eatrice pointed out not very cheap either comparing to a PS3. The only thing I can guess is that Microsoft gambles on the downloaded movies/music will be bigger than blu-ray
Except Sony has hinted very strongly that they will have downloadable content as well. They can easily offer up all of their Sony movies that Microsoft would not have access to. Universal might be the only distributer that wouldn't support the PS3's downloadable content, considering they are linked to Microsoft through NBC I believe? I think that's the connection that caused them both to support HD-DVD, correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, Sony can add those features to Home if they wish.
As I said have no idea why the put this high price point...but I guess they might be gamling on that they will have 6 month head start before Home arrives. (then 20 gb might be a little bit on the low side for downloads which the 500$ PS3 have right?)
So far I think both the xbox360 and PS3 is doing everything possible to keep themselves away from mass market appel. I serious hope that those two will pull this off because other wise we might find us with a smaller gaming population, and that is something I really don't want.
Buy it and pray to the gods of Sigs: Naznatips!
