^ Awww, that makes me upset.

I just saw this today and I was hoping that we really have advanced this far.

Anyone think that this will one day be possible?

If so, how would we be able to create a being with a concious if we can't even explain what a concious is?

wtf are you talking about?! this, if it were true, and lets hope it never will be true be would be cruel and inhumane

I mean, PACKAGED PETS? wtf? next thing you know, why don't we have packaged babies? exactly...living, breathing things are not to be "packaged" and distributed like paper towels or socks, they should be free from the moment they are born

free, however, does not mean that we should just release them to roam about the countryside, I'm all for buying/adopting pets as long as, you know, while the pets are being sold that they are in good living conidtions.

I'm sorry it's just that I volunteer at a local animal shelter and, despite this being a joke, it just gets me really angry

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veal#Production

your point? did you read this?:

Veal crates were banned in the UK (under the 1987 "Welfare of Calves Regulations" which came into effect in 1990)[7] and throughout the European Union in 2007.

The AVA (American Veal Association) announced in 2007 a 10 year phasing out of "crates"

so pretty much all the high-production, industrial nations have either banned this or are against it...what are you trying to prove anyways? That such treatment is ok? or that it exsists? I know that 90% of cows are not "free" but I do not think that pets should be treated in the same way.
