On the surface you would think the controls of Mario Kart having changed. But that couldn't be further from the truth. First the way you drift in Mario Kart Wii is completely different from in Mario Kart DS. Apart from drifting if you play Mario Kart Wii and then go back and play Mario Kart 64 you would find that the controls are totally different. The Mario Kart Wii controls are perfect while in N64 your Kart just goes all over the place. I found the Mario Kart 64 controls so bad that I couldn't even stay on track at all even on DK's Jungle Parkway which is by far my best track on Mario Kart Wii. Of course 10 years ago when I was playing Mario Kart 64 I did not realise how bad the controls were.
