Can you give us those numbers ?

2 tflops vs. 1 tflop.
No, not all of that difference shows up in games.
|
Tflops what ? GPU, CPU, I/O ? Where does that came from ?
I did read an article saying that the PS3 was good had doing some floating calculation that were totally irelevant for gaming but that is all.
Sources ? Proofs ? Benchmarks ? Anything ?

I think they came from this one,

Yes, there are no GPU:s in that list anymore, because of sonys brainwash attempt. (Which apparently has been effective for some brainless fanboys. :) )
"We have received numerous emails and comments voicing doubt over the floating point capability of the RSX GPU in the PS3. While original specs put the GPU at an official 1.8 TFLOPS spec, this number in fact appears to be inflated. At this time, we have no reliable information stating the true floating point performance of the GPU. Some claims put the GPU in the range of the GeForce 7600 chip, which has been rated at 192 GFLOPS."
Heres the original picture,

(Note that GPUs on PC are just breaking the 1000 GFLOPS limit. Uh, ok they didn't came from that one as X360 is clearly less than 1TFLOPS. Anyway...)

Only Floating Point Operations ? Is that the relevant criteria to be declared the most powerfull plateform ???
|
yes

How absolutely pathetic is this. FPW represents even in GT5P about 20% of the work the rest is general purpose processing. Why would even a PS3 fanboy post a chart for floating point work only? Major LOL. Crysis for instance is almost entirely General purpose processing. Floating point work is mainly used for streaming and video. Media stuff. So MGS4 is great for this as the majority of the game/movie is not controlled.
