imagine Microsoft not offering Windows to SONY VAIO , what is going to happen????

It's less "MS offers" than "Sony buys".

Anyway, Linux.

Dont get me wrong, but linux are still not so popular in the puplic. Programmers like my self are the people that use this operating system more often...

If Sony's revenue was as much as MS revenue for licensing Windows to VAIO, then I doubt Sony Pictures would take those movies out, besides, the last thing MS wants is for Sony (and Dell and HP/Compaq because you can bet your ass they would side with the Laptop manufacturer Sony and not Microsoft) to partner up with Apple OS or put Linux on their computers and yes there are very user friendly versions of Linux out there. If memory serves me right both Dell and HP talked about expanding their Linux installed computers which IMO would be great.

LOL. Sony's laptops wouldnt stand a chance in the mainstream computer world. The average computer user knows windows. I'm not talking the boffins who understand the benefits of each OS. But the computer casuals who surf the net. These peole and all of their friends have seen and only used Windows. That would be a big blow to Sony laptops.

Anyways M$ got into court for cornering the computer market to much. If Sony did pull this I could certainly see them in court. Because and I quote "Sony not allowing M$ to have streaming films is like Sony not allowing Sony Picture DVD's to run on a 360 DVD drive. They are just 2 different methods of viewing the movie. Both Legal adaptions."

Also if I'm right the 360 is more a medium for Netflix to expand to. And considering you need a netflix account, it's netflix that need the rights to stream the films. The fact that Netflix use the 360 as a viewer Sony can do F**K all about. Otherwise Netflix would have to stop the PC version streaming for these films to.

Either M$ is double checking the Legal issues, or they are general teething problems.

What Sony is doing, if it really is doing it, is not illegal, Sony does not have a monopoly in the movie industry. MS will not not allow Sony to license Windows, if one Window license is what? 150 bucks, then that's hundreds of millions of revenue in their pocket every year from Sony Vaio's computer alone.

And nowadays it is viable to sell computers with other OS installed in them, just look at Apple, I wish the industry would move forward and allow consumers to buy laptops either with no OS or with Linux installed, it would save us money because those companies pass those licensing fees onto us.
