There is an abundance of evidence for the latter, and a bunch of old books that rely on you making them your axiom for it to be a justified belief. |
No, people would just assume Rabbits have been around since then, and that a rabbit must be out common ancestor!
Actually, I know quite a few people who would say that!
Still, quite a bit of the dating process is down to how old seems sensible, so figures could easily be smudged.
