Here the question comes that will the big three go for the most powerfull or the most inovative console next gen? Also which will be the most powerfull? |
The PS3 has a lousy disc read speed, less general purpose RAM and a GPU that is basically even with what the 360 has under the hood. It isn't the most powerful system hardware wise in several key areas and overall I think it is inferior to the 360. That being said, I think that if Sony has a shred of business sense left they will introduce the PS4 before the next gen Xbox, for a lower price point and with less powerful hardware. I think the next Xbox may have the most powerful hardware unless Sony gets it wrong again and Microsoft produces a cheaper system to more effectively compete with Nintendo. As far as innovation goes, I don't think changing the controller, upgrading the online service, etc... are innovations worth mentioning. The greatest innovations come from the game developers, not the hardware manufacturers.
