I have to agree with Rol where this is getting stupid...what's the point in having a console out that can do everything that a new console coming out in 3-4 years can do? I really see this as an utter waste of money. Theres no simpler way to put it. So the PS420 can do the exact same thing, just a little quicker? When I say theres no point in this..I mean there is absolutely NO POINT IN THIS. Sorry dude..this is just sounding worse and worse. |
Ok look this is the situation as is it today:
HD Consoles have negatives (I'm just going to use this term in place for a list of things like loadtimes, slowdown, blah blah blah.)
This is not casual friendly, and things could be a lot better.
So, you introduce a new console but not as a new console, just as a rolls royce model 100-200 dollars more. This system completely eliminates all console negatives. Imagine gaming the way it was back on cartridges, instant play time, no install, nothing, play within 10 seconds of pressing power.
That is pretty cool, I think a lot of people would like something like that.
Then you release ps4, which is completely different in make and model, look and controller. however, it is playing ps3.540 games, the bonus of that is that the PS420 would not have the console negatives either, whereas the ps3.540 would have the negatives that ps360 does right now.
Gamers have lived with those negative for a long time now and are used to them, having an intermediary system would simply allow the play of ps420, but without the new "standard" that gaming could be of no negatives....
The key to this is that gaming is at such a high level right now as it is, it is going to be difficult to improve them further. In fact it is going to be a monstrous task to improve the next gen as it was improved this gen. So, instead of wasting money on 600$ graphics cards you improve performance.
It does not need to be a next gen console now, just a better intermediary console.
