For example you can pick up game like Burnout Revenge, Project Gotham Racing 3, Perfect Dark Zero, Kameo all for 30 bucks each. There is plenty more cheap that you can get used. Right now the ps3 hardly has anything exclusive that's worth it. For Resistence there's Gears of War. And personally if you like racing games you can get several great racing games on the 360 for half the price of Motorstrom. Plus the exclusives this year are all going to be insane on the 360: Forza 2 Mass Effect(this one looks amazing) Blue Dragon Lost Odyssey Halo 3 You simply can't go wrong with the 360. I don't think a ps3 is worth picking up until spring 2008 when they'll finally have some good exclusives, and a price drop. Unless your dying for a blu-ray player I can't imagine picking the ps3 over the 360 this year.
I'd like to add that if your big into sports games like madden or NBA live then there really isn't any reason to go with the PS3 over the 360. Both will sport almost identical graphics and features across multi-platform titles, so if thats your cup of tea it's best to save the cash. It really comes down to the exclusives for each, which is what you should be looking at.
